The Fire Ceremony (Yagna) at Vaidyagrama

Outside of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu in Southern India

In December 2022 we went to Vaidyagrama, an Ayurvedic “Healing Village”, for 3 weeks and were lucky enough to arrive in time for a one week fire ceremony. Each day Brahmin priests chanted and worshipped our connection to the planets and different Deities. Each evening they created beautiful chalk Mandalas and images for the next days ceremony.

Also there was a traditional Puja honoring the cow, and different roles of people, including us (Martin & Kassandra) as a married couple celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. Vaidyagrama integrates traditional Vedic treatments, chanting and ceremonies into the healing experience, including a weekly Abishek of the Shiva lingam.

These photos give a sense of the ceremonies.
